We are in the Internet age where everything we need can be found online. In fact, the Internet has killed a lot of businesses that used to be doing well. Video rental stores have closed. Encyclopedias are no longer used. CDs and DVDs are no longer options for films.
The Internet has also killed traditional advertising techniques in a way. More business owners are doing online marketing as opposed to more traditional techniques.
As a small business owner, should you just ignore print media and focus your advertising efforts entirely online?
The answer is no. Just because online marketing has become popular does not mean this is the only way to reach out to your target audience. There is also this false assumption that all businesses have the same target audience. Perhaps, there are businesses catering to younger people. They are easily reached online.
Your business might be different. You have to cater to the needs of older people who don’t have Internet access or are just not interested in it. They would rather stick with the traditional methods. They still love to check out information via roller banners or pull up banners. For them, leaflet printing and flyer printing are still effective. Their attention is easily captured if you go this route.
Use all resources possible
There is nothing wrong in taking advantage of all resources at your disposal. If you want to reach your target customers online through social media sites, do it. However, if you want to partner it with a more traditional approach like banner printing and brochure printing, it can also be done.
The goal is to reach out to as many people as possible. You want them to know more about your company. These banners might not provide the information they need, so you can write your business contact number and website on them. If people want to know more, they can easily go to your website and get more details. Using a mix of both strategies could actually work well.
Track the progress
Once you have started using various advertising strategies, you should also start tracking their progress. It helps a lot if you evaluate the ads you have used constantly to determine whether or not they are effective in attracting people towards your business.
Those ads that are ineffective should be changed or edited. Banners have been proven to be effective. Otherwise, a lot of major companies would have completely switched to online advertising. They know that there are still people who want to see banners. These banners may also be used for various events.
If you are a small business owner, you should target a smaller group of people. Using banners is effective in achieving that goal as opposed to simply advertising online to random people.
